Ibrahamovic started his football journey with the youth team of Malmo BI in 1987. He moved to Balkan in 1989.However he did return to Malmo Biform 1991,he remained with Balkan. In 1995,he joined the youth system of Malmo FF. Ibrahamovic progressed to the senior team of Malmo FF, in 1999.In his first season he saw his club facing demotion to second division.
